Hi, my name is Steve DeLong.  I'm on my 8th year in the Air Force now and am currently serving at Osan Air Base, in the Republic of Korea.  My wife Lana, and new baby Hannah are currently still waiting for me back in Washington D.C.  Then we're on our way to Hawii.  I'm originally from Westport Island, Maine.  I grew up on bluegrass and country music.  I was diddling around on the piano here and there and saw my first synthesizer in 8th grade.  So I started getting into electronic keyboards.  My first rock album was Van Halen's - 1984.  Jump always seemed so far away for me to learn.  But I eventually got it.  Well, having not listened to bluegrass all the time, I picked up an acoustic guitar once and a while, and strummed a few chords.  Needless to say I've been in a few bands here and there, ranging from names like Nuclear Soul (since we lived next to a nuclear power plant), Article 15, Slammin' Mojos, Just Cause, and now currently in a band called Cheap Shots.  I've also played in a couple of acoustic duets.  Playing keyboards and rhythm guitar used to be my thing until I bought a Taylor acoustic guitar.  Nowadays, it seems like my keyboards are gathering dust.  Being stationed in Korea, there's a lot that could get a guy into trouble, but I hang out at a bar called Mr. Kim's Pianobar.  Lot's of good music, friends, and atmosphere.  The Koreans really get into American music, especially if you play Hotel California for them.  So I've got 4 months left here, then on to beautiful Hawaii for 3 years paid for by Uncle Sam.  Hopefully, I'll be able to play there too, and have my wife and daughter enjoy it as well.  I will also be able to get back to my studio equipment and one of my goals is to finish a cd by next year.  So with that, thanks for visiting, and hope to play for you soon.

Well, only 2 1/2 months to go and I'll be home!!  I've counted approximately how many gigs I've had up to this date and it's somewhere around 150...I've got the fingers to prove it too...Not bad for 9 months time...We're kind of on a break this month due to our drummer and bass player being on mid-tour...We'll start it back up in April and will probably be a lot warmer so we can play outside...Anyhoo, I'll be playing a lot of acoustic this month...So, I'll sign off for now...I'll be back soon...

It's now August and I'm finally in Honolulu, HI for the next 3 years.  It's hard to say what the music scene will bring here, but I'm taking a little hiatus after playing so much in Korea.  I've been here about 2 months now and I'm ready to start working on a demo CD.  I'm back with all my equipment, as all I brought to Korea was my acoustic guitar.  Needless to say I learned quite a lot on the acoustic guitar and I'm ready to start writing.  I'll probably be getting together with my friend Paul who just came back from Korea as well.  We used to sit outside and play acoustics all night long.  Guess we'll see what happens.  So I'll sign off for now...and update this a little later...

Wow, how time flies when your having fun in Hawaii.  Haven't had much time to work on music, due to a busy work schedule, beautiful daughter, and working on my Bachelor's degree.  I just acquired a Yamaha AW16G digital multi-tracker, so hopefully I get some time to learn the ropes and get something out on my website.  Hope everyone is doing well, and send me a note.  Can't actually wait to leave Hawaii and finish my degree so I can start working on a CD.  Been working on some songs, so hopefully I get them down with this new toy!!!
